Our Approach: Engaging All Five Senses

Building bridges through compassionate interaction

Empathy-First Care Delivery
Understanding needs before they’re expressed

The TouchPoint Sensory Difference

Certified Specialists

All team members across our Ohio memory care communities complete rigorous TouchPoint Sensory Certification through immersive training in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. This equips our staff with advanced skills in communication, interaction and engagement techniques specifically tailored for memory care residents.

Participation in our immersive simulation, known as Dementia Live®, also allows staff to experience firsthand the sensory and cognitive challenges of living with dementia.

A Sensory-Integrated Daily Life

Sensory experiences aren’t limited to scheduled activities. They’re woven into every part of the day. From interactive cooking lessons in our Savory Kitchen to dedicated sensory stations throughout our communities, each environment is intentionally designed to promote cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being and social engagement around the clock.

Nationally Recognized Excellence

Recognized by one of senior care’s most prestigious national honors, the Memory Care Innovation Awards by Senior Housing News and WTWH Healthcare, our Memory Care Program Manager Megan Deaton, LPN, was named among the country’s top leaders shaping the future of dementia care. Winners are featured across Senior Housing News, Memory Care Business and Skilled Nursing News.¹

Personal Sensory Profiles

We develop a comprehensive sensory profile for each resident, capturing their unique history, experiences and preferences. These profiles help individuals maintain their sense of identity by honoring their past achievements and interests, while sparking meaningful conversations and interactions that keep residents socially active and emotionally connected.

Themed Experiential Programming

Our engaging daily activities follow weekly themes such as “Birds and Blooms,” “A Day at the Beach,” and special holiday celebrations. Each theme creates immersive sensory experiences that evoke positive memories and emotions.

Our exceptional programming can be customized for individuals experiencing any level of dementia — from active programming to modified programming for individuals who are less active.

Personalized Engagement Plans

We develop tailored activities based on each resident’s preferences, life history and abilities. Our balanced approach includes both individual attention and group sessions that encourage social interaction and emotional well-being.

FAQs

How much does memory care cost?

Memory care costs vary based on the community, room type and level of care needed. We believe every family deserves a clear, honest conversation about pricing. Contact us and we’ll walk you through what to expect.

How is your memory care staffed?

Our memory care communities are staffed 24 hours a day with 12 hours of RN oversight. Additionally, we employ dedicated resident lifestyle specialists to lead our teams in delivering TouchPoint Sensory Memory Care programming. All team members working on our campus are required to complete rigorous TouchPoint Sensory Certification through immersive training in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. This equips our staff with advanced skills in communication, interaction and engagement techniques specifically tailored for memory care residents.

How do I know when it's the right time for memory care?

This is one of the hardest questions families face. A few signs it may be time: increasing safety concerns at home, caregiver burnout, significant changes in behavior or daily functioning or a doctor’s recommendation. Read our full guide on making memory care decisions with confidence.

What does a typical day look like for a memory care resident?

Every day is built around the resident’s personal sensory profile, history and preferences. That might include themed experiential activities like “A Day at the Beach” or “Birds and Blooms,” interactive cooking sessions in the Savory Kitchen, one-on-one engagement time, group programming and sensory station activities, all designed to promote cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being and social connection.

How do we get started?
